Why I stopped using leather strop?

Raw unedited and cut short by my phone memory boring video explaining that I am lazy and chasing a stubborn burr is far from enjoying. I want clean apex fast and efficiently - probably it will not be the sharpest edge out there but I am not shaving with my knives. If stropping rocks your boat - go for it. I am not good at using one. Have a nice day and thanks for watching...

Pull the edge gently on the wood on your strop then strop the knife a little more. I use thin newspapper, medium and very thick papper for floors also. Stubborn burr always comes off with strop, wood, strop, papper x2 and hard side of strop.

I own a 1000/4000 combo stone, and I just checled out this stone from jck, I can hardly wait for it to arrive, the 4000 is good but it makes a bity edge. P.S. I always soak the stone even if they say it is not mandatory, a 20 min soak is a must.

I have this "Chinese Cleaver". The Victorinox knives are made of X55CrMo14 steel hardened to 56 on the Rockwell scale. This knife is easy to sharpen and it is wonderful to use. There are no sharp edges where the hand and fingers grip the knife in the "pinch grip", it's very comfortable. Some might complain that it's too light but to others that might be an asset. I have two other "Chinese Cleavers" and this is the lightest one (216 grams; 7.62 oz); my Three Rams # 3 that weighs 303 grams; 10.7 oz. And my Helen Chen Carbon Steel (it's advertised as such) is the heaviest.

I've run into the same frustration chasing a stubborn burr. I think that using a quick ceramic honing rod might be a useful quick step before the strop, but I haven't tested the theory more than a couple times.
